In my house I can not look at a piece of white clothing without it staining. It just happens!
Odd socks got you down?
Stale smell to your washing?
Check out these quick and easy hacks for in the laundry
Ahh, the grease stains!
Shave some chalk over the grease stain and leave overnight before washing. The chalk will soak up the grease and then wash out - that simple!
Wash Socks in Laundry Bag
You know the bags that you wash your bra’s and delicates in?
Put all your socks in a wash bag and throw in the washing machine.
This will help eliminate your washing machine eating socks and you having to wear one pink and one white sock to work.
Throw a sachet of dried lavender or rosemary in your draw to keep clothes smelling fresh.
Pick and choose your scents to suit your style.
Peppermint is always a winner!
Grab a spray bottle, add a couple of drops of essential oil and spritz your clothes before wearing to freshen them up.
If your spraying your top half, keep your mouth closed - It doesnt taste very nice!
Crease Free - Iron Free
To remove creases from a dry item without having to iron, throw it in the dryer with a couple of ice cubes. The steam from the heat and ice together will remove the creases - Pretty cool hey!
Reducing Dryer Time
To reduce drying times when using a dryer, add a dry towel to the load.
The towel will absorb the extra moisture.
If you are experiencing static on your clothes and sheets after using the dryer, make up balls of aluminum and throw them in the dryer with the clothes.
The balls will attract the static and it wont be left on your clothes.
Do you hand wash your delicates? If so, use a colander from the kitchen to help remove the detergent without having to throw the garment around too much.
Since you are already in the kitchen, grab your salad spinner and use this to remove excess water from the delicate items
Stop Colour Running
To stop your favourite red shirt from running onto your favourite white shirt - Dont wash them together!
Another way to stop colour run is by putting ½ of vinegar in the wash cycle. Even with the vinegar we do not recommend mixing reds and whites. Salt also works with the same effect
Hopefully these hacks have been as helpful for you and your laundry as they have for us!
