We have been contacted by a small, grass roots organisation to donate modern cloth nappies in as quick a time as possible. There are 50 babies who desperately need our help!
This organisation will be travelling to Uganda on 5 February 2013 to work with women who have had babies as a result of being victims of rape. They are given disposable nappies however (obviously!) landfill is an issue and they run out quickly.
We have put our heads together here to work out what we can do to help. So far, we’ve come up with; -
· Contacting 107 suppliers to let them know of this donation and posting a call out in both Lavenderia and The Eco Mum to spread the word
· Having suppliers contact their customers and databases to help create an amazing nappy drive.
· Donating some of our personal stash and some of our business stash
What other ideas do you think we could use?
We have a short period of time to do this – we’d like donations by 25 – 28 January 2013 so there is enough time for postage, packing and collection to have them get on the flight to Uganda.
If you have any donations you wish to make, please email us straight away on firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 1300 853 309.
Alternatively, put your heads together with some friends and email us some ideas to come up with more donations and REALLY spread the word – there are about 50 babies that need nappies.
Thank you so much – your generosity of spirit will be greatly appreciated by these women!
