Which Cloth Nappy is the Right Cloth Nappy?

The cloth nappy market now has more options than the disposable nappy market and it can be
very overwhelming choosing the right nappy.

From pocket nappies to AIO (All in Ones), to snap in, WAHM (Work at Home Mum made),
chinese cheapies, fitted, sized and so on. That couples with reviews from other cloth nappy
users - no wonder your confused about which is the right nappy.

As with all products you have your well known brands and your smaller companies, you have
your expensive brands and your cheaper options.

The big name brands do have more of a following which means that reviews - both good and
bad are more readily available.

These brands are able to mass product and some even have
their nappies in bricks and mortar shops for those who don't like shopping online.

WAHM nappies are ones that are hand sewn by a Work at Home Mum.

A lot of time and effort go into these nappies and you can even request custom prints. These nappies can be more expensive due to the labour and love that go into them.

There is a lot of feedback online regarding ‘Rebranded Chinese Cheapies’. These are nappies which are mass produced in Chinese factories and then resold by businesses and work from home mums. They do receive a lot of negative feedback because it is said that they are made in unfair environments where the workers are not looked after.

We have NOT found evidence of this, which doesn't mean it isn't happening but also means it may be. We do not endorse factories that are unfair to their workers, however just because a product is sold at a fraction of the price of others does not mean it has been unjustly been produced.

Purchasing these rebranded nappies DOES mean that you are trying to support a mum who wants to spend a little more time at home with her babies before going back into the work force.

There is also the factor of your baby. Not all nappies fit all babies. What may have worked well on your friends baby, may not suit your baby.

All of the options are better for the environment than using disposables. There are not 10-12 disposable nappies going into landfill each day while you are using cloth nappies.

Price is a huge factor with making the move to cloth nappies. Some people can afford to pay $20+ per nappy to start their stash and others can't.

So which is the right cloth nappy?

The right cloth nappy is the one YOU choose. Choose your nappy based on YOUR baby and YOUR views and YOUR financial situation.

Do not be bullied into choosing a certain nappy if it is not what you want to use. We all choose cloth nappies for different reasons and those reasons are what are making our babies safer, our environment more sustainable and our babies bums cuter
